Sri Srinath Batni started his professional career as a Design Engineer Trainee in the Heavy Engineering Manufacturing organization in the late seventies. After a brief stint in the various aspects of the company, he moved to the Electronic Data Processing Division when usage of computers for information management was at its infancy. He was responsible for designing and implementing Material Management System for the organization.

After a decade of experience, he moved to PSI Data Systems, an Indian subsidiary of French computer giant BULL Corporation as a Senior Manager. He was responsible to help the clients of the company in the Banking Industry to adopt Main Frame computers to increase the efficiency of their operations.

He then joined Infosys Limited in 1992 when India had started a journey of economic reforms and the software industry was almost nonexistent.  He was deeply involved in the growth and evolution of the company during 90s. Infosys created many firsts like Global Delivery Model, Quality maturity through CMM, a bench mark in corporate governance etc.  Srinath was one of the first employees to be included as the Member of the Board of the company in 2000. He held various positions and contributed to the growth of the company. Batni retired from the company in July 2014 after attaining the age of super annuation.

During his tenure at Infosys, he was also the member of the Executive Council of NASSCOM helping the software industry in India.

After the retirement from Infosys, he has been active as a Non-Executive board member in AXISCADES Ltd, an engineering product development company in the aerospace industry AND Global Edge Software Ltd, a software product development company in the Telecom industry.

Batni, along with his erstwhilecolleagues from Infosys has started a startup incubation venture, Axilor Ventures Pvt. Ltd. Axilor has aspiration to create a sustainable platform for young entrepreneurs to succeed against odds.

He is also playing a key role in his alma mater, NIE, Mysore. Recently he was elected to be the President of this prestigious institution in Mysore.

Batni holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Mysore and a post graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.
