He currently holds the position of Assistant Professor and Officer-In-Charge of the Geotechnical Engineering Division at the Department of Civil Engineering, The National Institute of Engineering (NIE) in Mysuru. Additionally, he serves as the Honorary Secretary for the Mysuru Chapter of the Indian Geotechnical Society. His academic journey began with a Bachelor's degree from KLES College of Engineering, Belgaum, followed by M.Tech. and Ph.D. degrees from NIT Surat, where he was mentored by Dr. C. H. Solanki. His Ph.D. research focused on Seismic Response Analysis of Reinforced Earth Retaining Structures.

His areas of expertise and research interests revolve around reinforced earth structures and geosynthetics, computational geomechanics, CFD applications in environmental geotechnics, ground improvement techniques, and deep foundations.

Notably, he has authored three books on Geotechnical Engineering and published a significant number of research papers, including book chapters, peer-reviewed journals, and conference proceedings—amounting to 50 publications. Moreover, he holds four Indian patents for innovative civil lab equipment designs.

As an academic mentor, Presently he is guiding four PhD students and one M.Tech Student. He has supervised numerous students, guiding 28 M.Tech. students.

His professional involvement extends beyond academia, as he actively engages in geotechnical engineering consultancy work for various state and central government infrastructure projects. Some of the notable entities he has provided consultancy services for include CBI, RBI, NHAI, AAI, Indian Railways, CPWD, MUDA, MMC, Infrastructure Development Department, Minor Irrigation Department, PWD, RDPR, Revenue Department, KSTDC, and Water Resources Department, among others. The total value of his completed consultancy projects amounts to 70 Lakhs.

Prior to joining NIE, he gained international experience working at Ambo University, Ethiopia, Africa, as part of the UNDP program. During this period, he also served as a visiting faculty member at prestigious Ethiopian universities such as Jimma University, Arba Minch University, Dire Dawa University, and Hawassa University. Before that, he acquired research experience at IIT Madras under the guidance of his mentor, Dr. G. R. Dodagoudar, during his Ph.D. and M.Tech. studies.

He has been an inspirational figure, delivering numerous technical and motivational talks at various engineering colleges in India and abroad. His contributions to academia are further reflected in his role as a Reviewer and Editorial board member for five peer-reviewed Scopus indexed journals.

Lastly, he holds membership in several esteemed professional organizations, including the International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering, American Society for Civil Engineers, Indian Geotechnical Society, International Society for Geosynthetics, ISTE, IEI, and ACCE India.
