About Me:

With eight years of teaching experience, I am currently working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering, The National Institute of Engineering NIE Mysuru in permanent cadre. I have been working as Officer-In Charge, Geotechnical Engineering Laboratory, NIE Mysuru. I received Bachelor’s degree from KLES College of Engineering, Belgaum in 2011. I obtained M.Tech. and Ph.D. from NIT Surat under the guidance of Dr. C. H. Solanki. My PhD thesis title was "Seismic Response Analysis of Reinforced Earth Retaining Structures". My primary research interests are reinforced earth structures and geosynthetics, CFD applications in environmental geotechnics, ground improvement techniques, computational geomechanics and deep foundations. Other than research and teaching, i am actively involved in geotechnical engineering consultancy work for the state and central government infrastructure projects for various departments such as., CBI New Delhi, RBI, NHAI, Airport Authority of India, Indian Railways, CPWD, MUDA, MMC, Infrastructure Development Department, Minor Irrigation Department, Planning Department, Public Work Development Department (Ports and Inner Land Water Transport), Rural Development And Panchayath Raj Department, Revenue Department, Tourism Department, Urban Development Department, Water Resources Department and many more. Before joining NIE Mysuru, i worked at Ambo University, Ethiopia, Africa, for three years under the UNDP program. During the stay at Ethiopia, i also worked as visiting faculty for various premier universities of Ethiopia such as., Jimma University, Arba Minch University, Dire Dawa University and Hawassa University. I worked at Basaveshwar Engineering College, Bagalkot for three years. I obtained few years of research experience from IIT Madras under the supervision of Dr G. R. Dodagoudar during PhD and M.Tech. I have written 3 books for the research in the area of Geotechnical Engineering. I have published around 40 research papers, including book chapters, peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings. Presently, i have been recognised as PhD research supervisor at Poornima University, Jaipur, Rajasthan and guiding one PhD student. I have guided 25 M.Tech. students and presently guiding 5 M.Tech. students for their thesis. I have attended more than 75 conferences/STTPs/seminars all around India and abroad. I have delivered many technical and motivational talks at different engineering colleges of India and abroad. I am also a Reviewer and editorial board member for five peer-reviewed journals. I am a member of many prestigious professional bodies such as., American Society for Civil Engineers, Indian Geotechnical Society, International Society for Geosynthetics, International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering, Indian Society for Technical Education, Institute of Engineers India, Association of Consulting Civil Engineers India .
