About Me:

My primary research interests are Renewable Energy, Power Electronics and Power Quality. Currently I am working on a project on ‘Development of research facility for studies on grid connected renewable energy system at distribution level’.  I have worked in National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal as a research scholar. My research activities in NITK Surathkal were mainly focused on ‘Grid connection of wind-solar hybrid renewable energy system, with active power filter functionality’, funded by AICTE Research Promotion Scheme. I have worked in Power Development & Research Consultants Pvt. Ltd. Bengaluru as Engineer, Power System Studies.  The projects handled in PRDC include power evacuation studies, design & rating for Neutral Grounding Reactor for the shunt reactor in substations, overvoltage studies, insulation co-ordination, switching transient and line impedance studies and harmonic analysis. Currently working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering, The National Institute of Engineering Mysuru, India.

  • “Establishment of Research Facility for Studies on Grid Connected Solar Energy System at Distribution Level with Real-time Controller” (Principal Investigator), funded by AICTE – Research Promotion Scheme, Amount: 19.33 Lakhs, Duration: 3 Years (ongoing)
  • “Virtual Inertia Controller for The Grid Interfacing Inverter of Wind Energy System”, funded by Centre for Research and Development (NIE-CRD), completed on 4thAugust, 2021.

Dr. Jayasankar V N recieved "Class B Awards" after the successful completion of "e-yantra Task Based Training ( TBT)". This Task Based Training is related to the hands-on experiments on the Firebird V-robot. e-Yantra is a project sponsored by MHRD through the National Mission on Education through ICT. e-Yantra is managed by IITBombay.
