About Me:

Having 3 years of teaching experience and 5 years of research experience, I am currently serving as an assistant professor in the civil engineering department at NIE since August 2023. Prior to joining NIE, I was a full-time Ph.D scholar (2018–2023) admitted through GATE at NITK, Surathkal (thesis submitted). I hold a B.E. in Civil Engineering from VTU, Belagavi, and an M.Tech. in Environmental Engineering from MIT, MAHE, Manipal. Previously, I have served at MMCT, Mangalore, and Sahyadri Engineering College, Mangalore, as an assistant professor in the civil engineering department. During my master, I was selected through the student exchange programme IEASTE, Manipal-India chapter, as an intern at UPB, Bucaramanga, Colombia, South America, and involved myself in research related to source apportionment of air pollutants for 6 months in the year 2016. Till now, I have involved myself in six funded projects from various organisations like AICET, the World Bank (Technocrats Private Limited, Bengaluru), Mangalore University, and private firms. Our research findings were published in 14 reputed international journals, presented at 4 international conferences, 3 national conferences, and 1 poster presentation. I have attended about 23 workshops in diverse streams of interest. During 2017, I was fortunate to be one of 126 faculties around India to participate in a one-month fully sponsored "Induction Training Programme" for new teachers, conducted under the scheme of PMMMNMTT, MHRD, Govt. of India, at IIT, Bombay. I have been a reviewer for six reputed journals from Elsevier, IEEE, Springer, and Songklanakarin and a member of a few prestigious professional bodies.Apart from these academic accomplishments, I involve myself in other extracurricular activities connected with scouts, NGOs, classical-folk dance forms, travelling, sports and games, etc.

My areas of research interest broadly include: Environmental Engineering, Water and Wastewater Treatment modelling and control, Air Pollution monitoring and control, Rainwater Harvesting, Solid Waste Management, Green Concepts, Vermicomposting, Remote Sensing, and GIS.
