About Me:

I am a PhD holder from Kuvempu University, Karnataka and my doctoral research area was on "Machinability Studies on Metal Matrix Composites". I have more than 30 years of teaching and research experience. Having obtained my M’Tech Degree from IIT Kharagpur in Machine Tool Engineering my research areas are Manufacturing Engineering, Automation, Composite materials. I was a co-investigator for the research project titled "Characterization of Composite Materials and Application of Nanomaterials for Sustainable Energy", for which Nano Mission, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India funded about 186 lakhs. I was heading the Centre for Nano Technology from 2010 to 2016.  

I am an accredited trainer on ‘CMS Operations and Programming’ for the Bosch Rexroth Training centres all over the world and imparted training at VTU-BR Centre in Mysore, India. I have attended various summer/winter schools, workshops, faculty development programmes. I have published around 75 research papers in various International and National Journals, and conferences. At present four research scholars are pursuing their doctoral studies under my guidance. One research scholar has been awarded doctoral degree. I have co-authored a book titled “Engineering Metrology and Measurements” with Dr, N.V. Raghavendra, published by Oxford University Press. 

I have visited McMaster University, Hamilton, Canada, on invitation from October   08-17, 2011 to have an interaction with various Professors & Centre heads regarding academics under faculty exchange programme and also participated in the “Nano Ontario Conference and Workshop 2011”, held on October 14-15, 2011 at McMaster Innovation Park, Canada. I have organized two Indo-Canadian Symposia on Nano-Science and Technology (ICSNST’13 and ICSNST 16) at the National Institute of Engineering, Mysore India, in association with McMaster University, Canada in the capacity of Convenor and organizing Secretary. 

I was a part of the delegation which visited China for a workshop on Technology Transfer. I have presented research papers in international conferences held at Singapore, Kingdom of Bahrain and Macau. I was a Session Chair in the 4th International Conference on Advanced Materials Research (ICAMR), held in Macau, China in January 22-23, 2014.  I am a Member of Review and Technical Committee for the International Conference on Advanced Materials research, (ICAMR)-2014 to date. I am a reviewer for Journal of the Brazilian Society of Mechanical Sciences and Engineering, Springer Publications. 

I have served as a member of Board of Examiners of various colleges.  I was a member of Board of Studies – PG, PES College of Engineering, Mandya from 2015-2017. Currently, I am a member of Academic Council as a subject expert at PES College of Engineering, Mandya from 2019 to date. I am also a Life Member of Indian Society of Technical Education. Presently, I am serving as the Head of Department of Mechanical Engineering from September 2019 onwards.
