About Me:

Myself  Dr. T .N .Shridhar, done both M.Tech and Ph.D. from IIT Madras, Chennai. I am working in the Department of Mechanical Engineering since 1986 till date at various positions. Currently working as professor. I have been given the responsibility of heading the Department (2008-12), Head NIE-Eicher Centre for Automobile Technology (2012-2016) and Controller of Examination (2016-19). I have developed various course materials for Laboratories in the Department. 

I have visited McMaster University, Hamilton, Canada, on invitation from October   08-17, 2011 to have an interaction with various Professors & Centre heads regarding academics under faculty exchange programme and also participated in the “Nano Ontario Conference and Workshop 2011”, held on October 14-15, 2011 at McMaster Innovation Park, Canada. I have organized two Indo-Canadian Symposia on Nano-Science and Technology (ICSNST’13 and ICSNST 16) at the National Institute of Engineering, Mysore India, in association with McMaster University, Canada in the capacity of Convenor. I have presented research paper in 4th International Conference on Advanced Materials Research (ICAMR), held in Macau, China in January 22-23, 2014. 

My research interest is in the area of Thermal Engineering, more specifically in IC Engines, Heat Transfer in Micro channels, Thermal Characterisation of Composites, Multi-layer Coating using Nano Materials for Solar Applications, Mechanical Characterisation in Composite Areca Fibre. Two research Scholars completed their Ph.D and one more scholar is awaiting his final Viva-voce.  Five more Research scholars are pursuing their research work till date. I have published more than 50 research papers in both National and International conferences and Journals.

I have been nominated several times as Expert member for AICTE Inspection committee for Affiliation of various institutions across India and LIC member. Also, I have served as a member of Board of Examiners of various colleges.  Currently I am a member of Board of Studies in the Department of Automobile Engineering, PES College of Engineering, Mandya, since 2017. I am also a Life Member of Indian Society of Technical Education
