Institution’s Innovation council, MoE

The Ministry of Education (MoE), Govt. of India has established ‘MoE’s Innovation Cell (MIC)’ to methodically foster the culture of Innovation in the midst of all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The principal directive of MIC is to encourage, inspire and nurture young students by supporting them to work with innovative ideas and transform them into working prototypes. MIC has envisioned encouraging formation of ‘Institution’s Innovation Council (IICs)’ across selected HEIs. A network of these IICs will be established to encourage innovation in the Institution through innumerable modes leading to an innovation promotion eco-system in the campuses.

Mentor Details

R.Srikanta Prasad, an alumnus of NIE and Indian Institute of Science, currently serving as Technical Director at EnerSys India has more than 35 years of experience in various facets of electronic product development and services for various industry segments like Industrial Automation, Textile, Telecommunication, Scientific Instruments, Healthcare, Renewable Energy and Energy Storage. He has special interests in embedded firmware development using AI / ML along with industry standard building blocks.

Dr. Ravi Vaikuntachar is currently working as a Director – Intellectual Property at Honeywell. He leads a team of 90 analysts supporting Honeywell Innovation and IP processes. He has more than 20 plus years of experience working with corporates and academics. Ravi earned PhD and MS from Indian Institute of Science and post-doctoral scholar at Inha University South Korea. His expertise includes IP generation, portfolio management, product clearances, IP monetization, tech strategy and open source software compliance.

Aravind.K.N, brings in a rich experience of 20 plus years from industry in the areas of product safety and compliance certification. He has served many multinational companies like Honeywell, Baxter, Intertek, Mentor Graphics, L&T and Arris making products qualify for EMC, CE, FDA, INMETRO complying to international safety standards and regulatory requirements. His zeal towards indigenization, support & guidance to entrepreneurs in the areas of pre compliance testing and certification will help the startups in early release to market.

N.S.Nagendra Prasad is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of iDoc Med Solutions Pvt Ltd, Bangalore, India. Nagendra Prasad pursued his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical from National Institute of technology (NIE), Mysore and his Master’s degree in Technological Operations from BITS Pilani, India. Has over 35 years of Industry experience starting in HAL and then at HMT. Trained in Germany for setting up CNC  machining lines at several Ordnance factories in India.. Joined Larsen and Toubro (L&T) as Head Global Business Development and served several areas of Businesses in Aerospace, Automotive, Industrial products & HEALTHCARE.  Also served the Hinduja Group as Vice President- Healthcare, to set up Medical Devices Design and manufacturing group with an R&D in the hospital for innovative solutions, and cost-effective products to Indian Healthcare community.
